I ordered my cuecat scanner from LibraryThing.com last week and it has arrived in the post today. Yahoo!
It is a simple interface, just plug into the USB port and it will get recognised as a ‘keyboard’. Then login into LibraryThing and get to the Add books page. With the cursor in the Search field, run the scanner over the barcode of book and a line of wierd characters will appear in that field and changed to an ISBN and have that book added to the online collection.
Simple but effective! However we have books in our collection that have no barcodes or have barcodes that are not standardised and the cuecat scanner won’t work for that. Where it works it is a faster and more efficient for me to continue adding the collection.
